Casa de Valdez in Taos

Rating based on the food I ate. My wife's food was 5 stars. So I decided to go traditional BBQ. Potato salad as a side? Yes, until I tasted it. Apples in traditional potato salad? Not in my 72 years. At least they should state that in the menu.

This was probably the best meal i had in taos. Very good food!

Continues to be one of my favorites in town. Friendly waitstaff...great food...the fajitas and habenero wings are the bomb.

Casa Valdez has been a Taos staple for many...I hadn't been here for such a long time and know the mexican dishes are quite satisfying but was in the mood for steak and bbq. This turned out not be what I expected 😔 the steak was barely warm as was the bbq and not so much bbq sauce so we sent our both our plates back and even the plate was cold, 1st indication should've been when the server did not say, be careful your plates are hot. Upon the plates return they come out hot, but not hot to touch. The sides weren't that great, cobbed corn and baked potato. The hostess Aurora was nice our server Crystal did best as she could with her being back this 1st day, father's day. For next time coming back, we'll stick to our guns and try the new mexican dishes.

Wowza the stuffed soapapilla is on point! So tasty! Husband got short ribs and was also not disappointed. Service was great and the patio was cozy

I love this place! Rolanda or Roles if you know her, will be happy that hook you up with an ice, ice cold brew. They have the best happy hour anywhere in Northern New Mexico and the food is delish. Just be aware that the ringing isn't in your ears, it's actually coming from the kitchen..!!!

The food is always excellent. They have a wonderful veggie burger and bean burrito. My husband raves about all the meat options.

Everything I get here is good. Great service.

Wonderful atmosphere on the inside. Servers were very hospitable, kept drinks filled. If one waitress was busy there would be an additional person to attend our needs. They helped out each other. The food was very delicious. It did not taste like they cooked it that morning but rather taste very fresh. This native Texan enjoyed this New Mexican-Mex food. What was also neat was the Bar-B-Cue that they had in the menu.

The people who met at the door were never rude, and good host.

The red and green sauce is so awesome. The red is hot but full of flavor. We love the New Mexican menu.

My wife and I eat here occasionally, always see friends there. Food and service is good. If you're in Taos, make sure to stop in and have a tasty meal.

I had the tamale plate smothered in green chili. Oh my God that was the best green chili in the world. They didn't go overboard on the "heat" But it went overboard on taste. it was just hot enough to enjoy every bite. I would eat that everyday and smother everything in that green chili. My dinner guests had the chili relleno and she said it was perfect crispy but creamy on the inside.

Excellent brisket, well smoked so really do not sauce, they do have 3 sauces if you want. The German coleslaw was tasty, never had it.

Slow service and would have liked free cups and salsa, but the food was great and my family enjoyed themselves. I had the rellenos, my husband a steak, my daughter's devoured taco salad and a burger. The margarita was made with fresh juice but could use more tequila. Prices were fair.
